About Wellington Fire Protection District
The Wellington Fire Protection District (WFPD) is an all-hazards emergency response organization serving approximately 288 square miles along the northern Front Range of Colorado. Our District includes the Town of Wellington as well as the communities of Waverly, Buckeye, and more.
WFPD is dedicated to protecting the lives, property, and environment of those who live in, work in, and travel through our response area. We accomplish this mission through a comprehensive approach to emergency services, including fire suppression, emergency medical services, hazardous materials response, fire prevention and education, and more.
Our personnel are highly trained firefighters and EMTs who are committed to providing professional, reliable, and compassionate service in every incident response. Whether responding to structure fires, medical emergencies, vehicle accidents, or community risk reduction efforts, our members work every day to improve safety in our district.
Emergency medical transport services within the District are provided through a partnership with UCHealth, which delivers Advanced Life Support (ALS) and transport services to ensure patients receive high-quality pre-hospital care when needed.
Beyond emergency response, WFPD places a strong emphasis on prevention and community engagement. Through public education programs, school visits, station tours, and participation in community events, we strive to build strong relationships with the residents we serve and promote proactive safety practices that help reduce risk before emergencies occur.
Our Team
WFPD is staffed 24/7 by three shifts, each consisting of six to seven certified firefighters and EMT's. We respond to fire incidents, motor vehicle collisions, and other emergencies.
