Career Firefighter-EMT 

​

The District realizes that in our pursuit of the standard for world-class organizations and top-tier emergency services providers, our employees make all the difference. The Wellington Fire Protection District is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Career Firefighter-EMT.

​

 

Applicants that pass the minimum requirements and testing will be placed on an eligibility list for current and future full-time openings within the organization. The entry level firefighter is typically supervised by the Lieutenant and duties include emergency response, public education, training and station and equipment maintenance among others. Wellington Fire Protection District (WFPD) is a fast-growing, progressive organization that operates three separate shifts out of two fully staffed stations. Firefighters work a 48/96 schedule. Current application period will close at 11:00 PM, Friday, July 28, 2023.

Minimum requirements: (Required by start date)

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License

  • Current State of Colorado EMTB

  • Current AHA CPR Provider

  • Current CPAT certificate

  • Current Colorado State IFSAC/ProBoard FFI

  • Current Colorado State IFSAC/ProBoard Hazmat Awareness and Operations

  • NIMS 100, 200, 700, & 800

Other desired qualifications:

Current Colorado State IFSAC/ProBoard FFII

NWCG Red Card

Associates degree; or 60 credit hours from an accredited institution
