Proposed Wellington Fire Sales Tax Increase

Fire District:

The Wellington Fire Protection District (“Fire District") is a full-time, all hazard emergency service provider serving 288 square miles of Larimer County and the Town of Wellington. The Fire District provides fire suppression, fire prevention, public education, emergency medical services, rescue, motor vehicle extrication, water rescue, and hazardous materials response (“collectively Emergency Services”) to the residents, businesses, visitors, commuters, and properties within its jurisdiction. The Interstate 25 corridor sees a combined 32,000 vehicles passing through the Fire District’s response area daily (Colorado Department of Transportation, 2023).
